Dr. Tony Hjelle graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1992 with a degree in Education, a concentration in Mathematics and a pre-med curricula. He taught in the public school system for three years while coaching the varsity soccer program and worked in a team designing statewide math testing for the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. After injuring his back playing basketball with his students, he visited a chiropractor for the first time. The care he received so impressed him that he made a decision to leave teaching and enrolled at Northwestern College of Chiropractic the next year.
Dr. Hjelle practiced near Eau Claire, WI as well as a suburb of Minneapolis, MN before moving to the northwoods and operating his Rhinelander and Crandon Clinics.
Dr. Hjelle enjoys playing the piano and plays keyboard in a local band called Mr. Boyko. He is also an avid endurance athlete who has completed multiple marathons, 18 to 24 hour multisport events, Birkebeiners, triathlons and duathlons. He is an avid snowboarder and is passionate about exercise, eating healthy and helping his patients to do the same.
In March of 2001 Dr. Tony Hjelle purchased a well established Chiropractic Clinic in Rhinelander, Wisconsin that had been in operation for almost 40 years. In October of 2007 he opened a branch office in Crandon, WI. Dr. Hjelle built a new clinic building in 2008 for his Rhinelander office and recently updated and remodeled his Crandon Clinic.
